WET MD

I think I may be looking for someone to calm my nerves/fears.  I was diagnosed with something like wet macular degeneration in my left eye 8 months ago. I got the avastin injection and see 20/25-20/30 sometimes out of that left eye.  I live in fear of the right eye going as well.

Within the last few days I have noticed some blur with my eyes. When I look down to read it takes a while for me to come in focus. My grid looks good but the last few days I seem to think I notice the lines not being straight with my right eye. Its not everytime I look but sometimes. I wonder if it could be nerves or mayve just time to get my prescription updated. I go to see my macula doctor for my regualr follow up tomorrow but I am so nervous I thought you might just give me some helpful info and suggestions for what this fuzzyness could be.

Thank you for your response. I am only 30 and have two small twin boys and the thought of losing my vision is very frightning. God Bless you for your work

Usually if you have significant, new macular degeneration changes, you will see it if you are monitoring your vision carefully.  You have already experienced wet AMD in the other eye so you have some idea personally what some of the symptoms are.  Currently with your right eye you could have vision changes from multiple possibilities including dry eyes, cataract, or macular degeneration just to name a few.  The good news is that you are being seen tomorrow and AVASTIN is a very effective treatment and you seem to have responded well in the other eye.  So even in the worst case scenario, you can still do extremely well if treated promptly and effectively.
