What is wrong with my left eye?

Hello

I've been having this problem for a while now, it started when I wore my monthly contact lense for about 3 month. My left eye was very uncomfortable but I still continued to wear them because I was out of the country, it came to a point which it was so uncomfortable which I was unable to keep it in my eye for even a minute. so I only wore one contact lens in my right eye. I noticed my left eyelid had become droopy, once I went back I stopped wearing contacts and its been about 3 years now. Its gotten a little better but my left eyelid still does not feel ok, it still feels a little swollen/droopy, it kinda feels itchy too, its hard to describe what it feels like... I'm more aware of my left eye. On days which gets hot, the problem gets worst. when I sleep it makes my left eye feel more comfortable. Is this anything I can fix or doe I have to live with it forever? since its a constant thing its making me go crazy.

I saw an ophthalmologist today she said there are no signs of bumps on my lids, but she said I have no tears and all my symptoms could be from dry eyes. I asked her if I should give restasis a try, and she said lets try some OTC drops first.

If I use restasis can I make my eyes create more tears by themselves? so lets say if I'm on restasis for a year and stop, will my eyes continue to create more tears?

Best Regards!

Just wanted to add that my left brow above the eye which has problems has also moved up since the problem began. Just wanted to add that as I thought it might make a difference in diagnosis of my problem.
