I'm 35-year-old male in otherwise good health (I did have Lasik 10 years ago with no problems other than some dryness). 9 weeks ago after the birth of my second daughter, I started having some discomfort from dryness in my eyes, and then one day after a panic attack (my wife had complications post delivery and we had to rush her to ER), my vision went blurred and it has not returned to normal since then. I will say it has improved from where it was that first week, but seems to be stuck at about 90% of normal. I've seen 4 Ophthalmologists, 3 who dilated me and looked at me through a slit lamp, who have said more or less my eyes look fine just dry. One said I had "corneal SPK" and prescribed Alrex for 5 days and restasis. I'm on week 5 of my restasis treatment, and the floaters have worsened in the last 3 weeks. My last visit to Ophthalmologist was 3 weeks ago and I've been told to return in 2 weeks. My current symptoms include:
-slightly blurred vision (enough that it disrupts computer usage and reading), though I'm still testing better than 20/20 in visual acuity.
-in the last 3 weeks I've had an increase in floaters in both eyes, and worse in my right eye. I would say I had almost 0 noticeable floaters 4 weeks ago and now I have closer to 15 total in both eyes.
-some light sensitivity, though minor.
-Some pain in my face, jaw, left cheek, back of my head / neck, and on the bridge of my nose.
In addition to 4 Ophthalmologist visits, I've also had blood tests, an MRI with and without contrast, and seen an ENT doctor. MRI was perfectly normal except for inflammation in the Ethmoid sinuses, which the ENT is now treating with augmentin and a 12-day course of prednisone (I'm on day 5 of that). My dentist this week also diagnosed me with TMJ and has suggested I get a mouth guard for nighttime clenching. But pretty much everyone seems to think I need to wait it out, which is harder and harder to do especially with a slow increase of floaters. any ideas? I'm open to anything from conditions to research to specialists to see. I'm pretty frustrated and lost at this point.
