Why does the outside corner of left eye feel bruised when blinking and to the touch?

So i noticed a bruised feeling at the edge of my left eyebrow twords my ear, and figured it was a pimple that hasn't broke the surface. 2 days pass and the pain moved to the outside corner of my eye closest to ear, it feels bruised to the touch and also when i blink. Its a little red just in that corner. If the eye is rubbed the pain increases immensely. I also just came down with a cold about 2 days before i noticed it hurting, im coughing up bright green phlegm a little sore throat bright green sinus discharge. Any help would greatly be appreciated, thank you A.Frnkln

There are two things that come to mind.  1. an localized infection like a boil/pimple/infected cyst. This might be treated with warm compresses and observation. If you see a lot of redness and pus you should see a physician for consideration for incision/drainage or oral antibiotics.   2. Early herpes zoster (shingles) this can cause a lot of pain without much changes on the skin. usually after 3-5 days red rash with blisters (vessicles) form.  This also needs to see physician to start oral anti-virals.
