Why is the outer corner of my eye red?

A little over a week ago I'm pretty sure I had what I thought was pink eye. I had the red, the discharge, the whole thing, but my eyes were always redest at the outer corner for some reason. I took eye drops from the doctor for about a week and most of it cleared up. When I leave the house my eyes tend to start getting red but I'm pretty sure its just allergies, so I've just been using some visine and it helps for the most part. Although my eyes are still red in the outer corner, one is worse then the other but it's party blood shot and party just, redish pinkish. I'm not sure why its only red in 1 corner, it occasionally gets itchy so I assumed it was allergies which is why I just take visine. It is also a tiny but swollen, epically in the morning but it stays pretty much all day. I've had eye allergies my whole life in the summer but this is fairly abnormal for me, and I'm getting concerned...please help?
(It's pretty much just 1 eye)
