Why won’t Cyst/eye swelling go down?

I think I’ve had a cyst under my upper eyelid since early October. I bought a new mascara and I got too close to my eyelash follicles on one of my eyes…as a result it swelled up (it went away within a day) and developed a little bump near my top lash line.

Over the next month it was a regular occurrence to wake up with this swollen eye but it would go away within a couple hours or a day. Things escalated at the beginning of November when I noticed I had lost some eyelashes where the bump was. Stupidly I poked and squeezed this bump. The next morning I woke up with a swollen eye, except this time it didn’t go away. It got worse as the days progressed, and I saw a doctor who gave me meds to make the swelling go down. Within 5 days it was gone.

I waited 2 weeks before wearing any mascara, but when I eventually did swelling appeared within a day. This is day 4 and the swelling hasn’t really peaked, it’s just constant. I don’t want to go on the antibiotics again, but it seems like I have to. I thought it was a cyst, but that bump is more or less gone…any ideas why my eye is still so sensitive?

*note* it's not an infection...my doctor said my actual eye looked fine+ my other eye is normal even though i've been wearing the same mascara on it

The most common reason is that there is a residual lesion there which could be a small cyst, a blocked oil gland, a tiny chalazion or meibomian abscess. If it persists see an optometrist or better yet an eye MD ophthalmologist for definitive diagnosis and treatment.
