Wierd case of double vision.

I posted a question about my double vision a while back but still cannot figure out what is causing this double vision im experiencing. Im not sure whether it is even double vision, could it be ghosting. Anyways, the double/ghosting vision is in both eyes doesn't matter whether both are open or one is open. I will try and give a clear description of my symptoms: whenever i look at mirror i can see double vision or ghosting, one shadow now appears as many shadows depending on the and angle and amount of light, whenever i watch television i can see minor double/ghosting vision(this is very disturbing). The thing is that the double/ghosting vison is exactly the same in both eyes(the image does not change at all when i switch between eyes), this leades me to believe it could possibly be a problem with the visual cortex? Any opinions?

I've been experiencing "double vision also".  It just happen recently, but my eyes have been poor since I was young.  The double vision is worse where there are many light source such as in a department store.  When outside, there's only 1 lightsource, the sun, which is not so bad.  My eyes is worse than -13 or -14.  Right now, when I go see an eye doctor, their machine is maxed out and I cannot see right still.  The problem is I cannot see the chart due to double vision.  It looks like alien writing.  It has gotten worse suddenly (within a years time).  My previous eye doctor (my sister inlaw) says that my eyes cornea are irregulary shaped, I might have to have a specially made contact.  They will map your eyes with a special instrument, and specially design the irregular lens to fit your eyes.  You may have karatoconus.  I am not a specialist, I'm just like you trying to find answers so I hope this help.

Since you see it with only one eye also it's more likely ghosting. There are many causes of ghosting some are quite serious. You need to see a Eye MD ophthalmologist.

PLease help. i have the same problem. I have some sort of weird double vision or ghosting when i look in mirrors, or even upon viewing the tv. what could those be symptoms of. im really scared. can you help me out.

John C Hagan III, MD, FACS can you please list all the possible causes for ghost vision. I cannot find any information on the causes. Thanks.

if it is ghosting i should be able to get rid of it right?
