Wrinkle (or fold) on eyeball?

I noticed today that the "white" of my eyeball appears to be wrinkling a little bit--It feels a little itchy/irritated (I have allergies), and when I examine it close up, the white-part stuff moves and wrinkles. I don't see a wrinkle when I just look at my eye straight on, but if I move the lid etc, I can clearly see (and sort of feel) it. This is kind of freaking me out--could it be some kind of detachment?

This eye, my left, is pretty nearsighted (-6.00, much more so than my right eye -3.00). It's also looks larger than my right eye (always has been that way). No redness, and my vision seems normal, but I'm afraid of retinal detachments/PVD/etc.
I had an MD complete eye exam last August with dilation and I saw someone for a minor infection in December--everything was normal.
Does this sound like it needs to be checked out? Thanks!!

Yes its swelling of the outer layer of the eye (conjunctiva) and is called "chemosis" and is like a hive developing on the skin. usual cause is allergy. If it occurs cold compresses, benedryl and an allergy eye drop like Zaditor or Ophcon-A usually usually resolve the problem within 4-12 hrs.

This happened to me once after I slept on a dusty pillow.  I woke up and my eye itched and when I looked at it it looked like the white part was dripping out of my eye.  I called my eye doctor and she told me to take more Benadryl.  I had already taken Benadryl.  But she told me it was an allergic reaction.
