I have a black floater in my eye that looks like a spider. Do you know what causes this and what is the treatment, should I see an opthamologist or will it go away on its own.?

Floaters don't cause pain. Any only you can make the decision about the MRI to rule out multiple sclerosis.

I have black odd shaped floaters in my eyes dailey they never go away i aslo have pain while moving my eyes sometimes i have been to 2 different eye specialists one tells me its just idiopoathic and they are not sure what is causing it.  The other has requested an MRI of the brain to RO MS. I have never had any optic neuritis and have no other symptoms of MS. This is very scary ad I am not sure I want to go through with haveing an MRI????

Use the search feature and archives to read the many posts and discussions of vitreous floaters. See an ophthalmologist to  make sure its not caused by a hole/tear in the retina or blood in the eye. Find one at www.aao.org
