blurry lifesaver shaped ring in both eyes

My boyfriend has since more than a year problems with his eyes.
He has a blurry lifesaver shaped ring in both of his eyes and also he sees red dots. He can see through the ring but vision isn't as clear. The ring is constant but worse in bright light. He can see well in the middle and outside the ring. But since a few weeks it´s getting worser. Now the centre starts getting be blurred too.

He went several times to different ophtalmologists, but they haven't found a diagnosis.

I would be so happy, if someone could help me!

Try googling "weiss ring" and see if this matches any of what he is experiencing.

If he is short sighted (large eyes), he is at a greater risk than otherwise.

I hope he finds an answer and a solution.

Since things have changed he needs to b seen again by an ophthalmologist. If the ring moves when the eye move it may be a Weiss Ring, however if it doesn't move it is more troublesome and a repeat exa with a macular OCT is needed
