broken blood vessel

im 36, and just started taking a new medication for migrane prevention 3 weeks ago, yesterday i woke up with a broken blood vessel, i was wodering if this could have anything to do with this new medication.  my eye does not hurt at all nor do i have any pressure what so ever.  Some people tell me its normal, that this sometimes happens, others say i should be concerned.  i have scheduled an appointment with my doc. but its untill tues. should i be concerned.

It depends which medication you were prescribed.  Either way, it is not an emergency if you do not have pain or change in vision and can wait till tuesday to see your doctor.

Topomax could cause blurry vision and other acute problems but not a broken blood vessel.  In the absence of pain or change in vision, you can wait till tuesday to see the doctor.

the prescribed medication was topomax.
