can you fix accommodative spasm?

Hi i am 27 years old that has right macular scotoma in my right eye. i try to fixate on either side of the scotoma in preference to my better-seeing left eye. when using my left eye i will have accommodative spasm creating blurry vision and right eye strabismus. when fixating with the right eye despite its blurriness from scotoma and have a 2 baumgartner filters on my right lense that equal out to 20/800. I turn esotropic with my left eye and extropic with my right eye. I have been doing atropine drops for 5 days now in my right eye with the filters. I have tried prism glasses that doesnt work at all to take away double vision. first question is how long can i do the atropine drops for?My second questions is the doc wants to do atropine drops in my left eye if i still have double vision with doing atropine in my right eye, is this really going to work?

First of all make sure you are seeing the right type of professional for your eye muscle problem. You need eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in strabismus/eye muscle problems.   Second many children are on atropine for years to prevent myopia progression. Third most strabismus Eye MDs would try byfocals for the good eye before putting atropine in your normal eye.

Yes I see a MD ophthalmologist. And he talked about putting me in bifocals if he does dilate my good eye. I'm just worried okay if this doesn't work after this what else can work
Why don't you take it one step at a time rather than "worse case" approach. You might ask your Eye MD about trying the bifocals before using atropine that has worked in some cases.
