cataract extraction & multifocal lens insertion

I am a 75 year old retired physician with bilateral cataract extractions and insertion of multi-focal lenses in the past year. I've kept an ongoing journal of my experiences with these lenses and would like to share information I've gained with others who have had similar surgery or are contemplating cataract extraction with insertion of multi-focal lenses.Would it be possible to post my journal on MedHelp?

I read parts of your blog and am so sorry to hear about your ordeal.

I have my first cataract surgery scheduled for July 8 and am trying to decide which IOL to get.  Your journal confirms my decision to avoid multifocals.

I'm sure your journal will be helpful to many.

I found your journal, which was not exactly what I expected.  (I anticipated a ReStor success story.)  Fortunately, I live in Chicago, so there is no chance I'll ever end up in your surgeon's office (in Seattle).

The two forums on this site contain a wealth of information about ReStor lenses.  There have been several posts during recent months from unhappy ReStor patients who had their IOLs explanted and replaced.  This may be a good option for you, too.

Yes, many people would be interested in reading your account.  If it's not possible for you to post your journal on this site, then post it elsewhere.  There are a couple of online accounts about recovery from retinal surgery, and discovering them was extremely valuable to me during my own recovery time.

Dear bob782,

As a physician who answers questions in the medhelp section, I am not aware of how to accomplish this task.  Try going to medhelp.org and contacting someone in the administrative department.  I am sure that other individuals would like to hear your experiences.

Thanks for your response. I have posted the journal at Wordpress.com under the title of VisionQuest.blog (an unfortunate choice of title since many people have chosen it for other topics). Thus far no one seems to have found my blog so I've added several key words (ReStor lens, multifocal lens problems, cataract lens replacement, intraocular lens, higher order aberrations) to see if this will make it easier to find.
I'll keep trying & will follow this very useful site.
