could accomodative spasms be correlated with a processing disorder?

I was diagnosed with accomodative eye spasms when I was ten. I was told it could only be brought on by a tumor or stress related. since I had family issues going on at the time they assumed it was stress related. I went to a physical therapy type thing for a year and then two years later I randomly got my clear vision back in math class one day. (I wear glasses now because I'm nearsighted.) However, I am starting to have moments where it will spasm again. I also have a processing disorder that seems to get 10x worse when my eyes are spasming and Its like my entire brain is blurry and I can recall very few memories from the years I suffered with spasms. Is it possible that there is a correlation with the two? could this be a neurological thing?

If you are 18 and have had the condition for 10 years its not at all likely a tumor. You can use the search feature and archives there is a lot written here about accommodative spasm.  During such spasms it will affect your ability to think and concentrate.  Treatment often consists of making sure your myopic glasses are not too strong (post cycloplegic refraction), bifocals, dilute atropine.  Suggest you see a neuro-ophthalmologist or a eye muscle ophthalmologist (called a pediatric or adult strabismus) eye MD
