Why would you pay money to a doctor that doesn't tell you anything? The last question I ask before I leave the room with every patient I see is "Do you have any questions or is there anything you don't understand?

Basic questions:

1. Is my eye healthy are there any other medical problems?
2. What is my vision in each eye without glasses?
3. What is my vision in each eye with glasses?
4. If I am satisfied with my vision without glasses and getting along well without glasses why should I go to the expense of buying glasses I don't want?

I will tell you that if you do not have headaches when your read or watch TV or use a computer, if you are happy with your vision without glasses and can pass a driver's license eye exam without glasses AND you don't want to wear glasses then I would not tell you to get them.

This prescription is too weak to warrant contact lens or surgery.

that is a very weak prescription for astigmatism which is a common non serious problem of a non-spherical cornea. The prescription tells nothing about the health of your eyes or your vision with or without them.

You should be getting specific answers from the professional that did your exam.
