Patching your eye is not a good thing to do. It can lead to muscle contracture and loss of the ability of your eyes to work together. (like not using an arm or a leg they get weak)

Thank you for your attention, also i've noticed that patching my right eye relieves the strain and makes it seem more normal but my doctor said it might harm my eyes if i do it for a long time. Can this harm my eyes if i keep doing it?
Best of luck to you JCH MD
Thank you very much,i've started my sinusitis treatment today, I'll see if i can find a good specialist too.
An orbital MRI is not to rule in or out strabismus. Its done in adults with sudden onset of eye muscles problems to see if there is stroke, tumor, orbital disease, etc that might have caused the strabismus. ERG is done to evaluate the health of the retina..
One of the causes of strabismus is sinus disease. So yes sinus disease could cause problems with the eyes tracking. HOWEVER your ophthalmologist should have been able to detect these tracking problems during your eye exam. You might consider seeing ENT doctor and getting your sinus treated/evaluated and consider if your general ophthalmologist wants to refer your/or you want to be referred to either a neuro-ophthalmologist or strabismus specialist.
