eye glasses

Hi, I hate to wear glasses but I am 61 and my eyes are getting worse.  I wear glasses for reading and seeing far, but in the middle range I am always taking my glasses off to talk to people.  When I go to the grocery store I put them on and take them off to read the lables but I cant see as well when they are on at semi close range.  Am I a candidate for lazer surgery or is there another way to deal with this other than glasses?  thank you

You are complaining about your intermediate range vision.  The 'old' method of handling this was with a trifocal.  The 'new' way is with a progressive lens which gives you distance, intermediate, and near vision.  I am not impressed with the vision quality achieved with multifocal contact lenses but you can try them.  You may be a little old to go into monovision for the first time.  I can tell you that you will NOT be best served with laser surgery.

There are a couple of ways.  You could try monovision with contact lenses.  You could also try multifocal contacts.  Talk to your eye care provider.
