flash after a laser surgery for retina detachment following a cataract operation

I had a cataract surgery in my left eye on january 22 nd 2008. two days after i had a retina detachment. I had two sessions of laser and had bubbles injected into my eye. I continue to see flashs or blistering lights in my eye especially when l blink it. My retinologist  examined me two times and didi not see anything wrong. My retina seems to be flat and l have no new scars. My question. What is it? I am not imagine it and my doctor has no explanation.

With time it usually gets better and eventually stops. On occassion someone will have flashes like chrislav posted.

I had a retinal detachment surgery (with scleral buckle) six years ago.  I have continued to see flashes ever since, even though the retina is repaired and flat.  I can sympathize with you.  It is annoying, but better than the alternative.

The whole laser reaction is over in much less than a thousands of a second. It might be due to vitreous traction (the posterior vitreous traction) or the formation of adhesions from the laser burns (that's why they are used to create adhesions to seal holes/tears shut).

Is it possible that my flashs of lights or my tendancie to see like a white flickering of light is cause by a lot of laser impacts in my eye

IF your retina Eye MD and your cataract Eye MD can't tell from examining your eye then we can't either without an exam.
