Helen, I think you need to seek a second opinion.  There are so many possiblities.  Severe dry eyes, cataracts, keratitis, retinal disease, optic nerve disease???? Where do we begin.  Please see another doctor in person - find a board-certified Ophthalmologist in your area and good luck. If your nasolacrimal duct is blocked you could have pus building up in the nasolacrimal sac and causing chronic conjuctivitis - that is the only way I could relate the tear duct to blurred vision. Ask the new doctor if the nasolacrimal duct looks ok.
