New IOL reposting - other was incomplete

Just had  a sn60wf 19.5 D in the L eye in the hopes of preserving my accommodation and immediate vision that I have with the same lens (18.5) form 4 yrs ago. I have some concerns and  need to determine how long do I have if this needs to be re-positioned?  I am hoping that there is a few month ability so I can give this another few weeks to see if it changes.  I know that vision changes during the 1st month as the lens seals in but I am seeing huge star-burst from oncoming headlights plus  traffic lights look like 5 stars with this eye. With both eyes the R eye suppresses most of it but not all. I could  not function driving with this eye if something got in the R eye. I also cannot read a highway sign unless I am right under it and cars look slightly slanted. I was 20/80 day after the surg. and 20/25 week later (that was the goal). 20/25 doesn’t seem right as I  was 20/25 in that eye and this is very different.  On the computer I was told to experiment  to try less than my 1.25 for now but at 100 things  look smaller and blurry & my old  1.25 is not good. I was advised that at 8ft (TV) both eyes would see the same but things seem a bit slanted and smaller and a bit blurry – if there is text on the TV I cannot read it well with this   - it is not clear and it almost seems like I have to focus  for a bit to see better. The faces look similar but not as clear with the new lens. Also when there is light on the left of me- I feel like my vision is being cut off. It  is not a glare but like a wash of light – sunglasses inside stop it.
Should this be going on? My other eye was seeing well right away.

Thank you for your kind response. May I ask -should print appear smaller with the new lens if it is -.50 that was the goal. I am 20/15 and the goal was 20/25 to soften things. thought things would be a tad larger with the -50  not smaller. I am concerned about the headlights at night - major light scattering and traffic lights - that this is not just my astig. My astg was  not corrected as it never posed any problem before. Is it  possible that an astigm. can cause this with a lower power lens but can be corrected with glasses for night driving? Or can the aspheric be slightly off and the lens still appear perfect in the bag? I do not see well to the left  if not wearing sunglasses. There is a glare that makes the image stop but with sunglasses I see in the spot that I can't without them. Have you had this happen and it dissipates? I still have some edema and am still using the drops.

Thanks so much,

peggy

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi Peg, if the IOL is of the improper power, then you have some time left before it needs to be "exchanged." Please ask your surgeon this question.
Sincerely,
