is this appropriate?

yesterday I went to see my local optometrist, and i explained my visual problems in detail to him. despite all indicators pointing to a retinal problem, he refused to dilate my eyes. when i asked why, he told me that my symptoms were "spiritual" in nature, and proceeded to give me scientology brochures. when i mentioned this to his techs, they kind of rolled their eyes and that was that. is this acceptable or does he need to be reported?

That behavior is not only rude and unprofessional but it is enough to report him to the state optometric association (if he is a member) and the state Board of Optometry that licenses him.

Suggest strongly you go from seeing optometrists to MD eye physician ophthalmologists. Find one near you at www.aao.org  Much better training.
