Basically I read online that retinal tears you had for three months , do not need to be treated as it will not cause a detachment in the long run, is this true ?
So I've been seeing flashes in vision for three months what do I do I've been to several ophthalmologist who said they don't need to dilate my eyes. As I'm young for a tear
You know I don't know how to answer that. Any patient that comes into our practice with flashes of light especially if also floaters, or myopic gets a dilated eye exam. That is the standard of care in the USA. Where do you live?
UK ?? However I'm only a teenager and they also said that if I did havea retinal tear, then I would als have other symptoms such ad floaters ? They said its very unlikely that would have. A retinal tear
Yes it is unlikely you would have a retinal tear or RD. Even in adults those are relatively unusual. That being said that would not fly in the USA for a proper exam. You may need to discuss with your parents and if you desire a 5th exam have your parents demand to have the pupils dilated. That being said with 4 normal exams the risk of you have RD are very low.
If you have had flashes for 3/4 months now and haven't had anything serious develop and just like three or 4 black little dot floaters them is it unlikely to be a retinal tear?
Is it more likely to be a pvd ? Even though there is still a chance it was a retinal tear, . Wouldn't the tear have caused more serious symptoms by now, ita been there's or four months
