I'm not an MD, but if you are talking about a small point (about 2 mm in size) of enlarged capillaries causing a red spot in your eye, then it sounds like a benign problem that can happen from pressure. Sometimes I'll sneeze and get one of these. Sometimes it happens in both eyes.
But if you are saying it looks like blood is pooling in your eye, that could be hyphema, and it is an emergency to find out the cause, stop the bleeding if it hasn't stopped, and try to prevent vision loss. You could read about it here:

I would recommend that you seek the care of an MD as possible causes include high blood pressure, bleeding disorders, trauma especially since you have a headache. If you have high blood pressure, it should be treated.
