I'm looking into joining the French Foreign Legion next year but have bad eyesight. -0.6 in left eye and -.07 in right. My eyesight was acceptable enough for the U.S. Army (time served), but I'm not sure if it's good enough for the Foreign Legion. I wrote them and this is what they told me...
"Your eyes must meet the following minimum criteria:
without correction, or [7 / 10 and 2 / 10] or [6 / 10 and 3 / 10] or [5 / 10 and 4 / 10]
i HAVE PROVIDED MY EYE TEST RESULTS BELOW CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME IF I AM ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.
My eye prescription is as follows
RIGHT EYE [ SPH -5.00 ] [ CYL+2.00 ] [ AXIS 110 ]
RIGHT EYE UNAIDED 6/60
RIGHT EYE AIDED 6/9
LEFT EYE [ SPH -4.75 ] [ CYL +0.75 ] [ AXIS 67 1/2 ]
LEFT EYE UNAIDED 6/60
