pain in the inner left corner of my eye

I read this question was mentioned earlier, and the response, included a brief reference to the lacrimal sac being dilated or infected, the fact that you could feel a small lump where the pain is was also mentioned. I can feel the small lump, and have the pain when i press on it. so my question is: what is the treatment for this? is it serious or not so serious? Thanks!

Dear Chris:

I would recommend that you get this checked. It may be an infection of the lacrimal sac and it is better to treat it.  Until, you get a correct diagnosis, the other questions of seriousness cannot be addressed.

Hi,

Thanks, i've been using a hot compress and massaging it a few times a day, and the pain on contact is completely gone, but i can still feel the hard lump in the corner of my eye, so it still feels slightly swollen.
