post chalazion surgery, thick eyelid

I had a chalazion surgery, and after a month, my eyelid was swollen and a bit red. Went to an ophtamologist, he said that I had a very small new one. I waited for 3 months and took care of my eye. However, my eyelid is still not back to its normal size. I also had a bit of white discharge daily. I came home and went to 2 ophtamologists, both of which said they could not see anything but the scar. I am wondering, because I used make up 5 days after the surgery and continued to use it, it might have irritated the open wound and now it will take time to heal, or something like that. I just wanted to know what the reason is for my eyelid still being a bit thicker/swollen and what to do about it. Will it go back to normal on its own?

There is always some scarring after chalazion surgery. You can use warm compresses, continue to clean your lids with something like Ocusoft Platinum Plus lid cleaner and wait. Over time the lid usually return to normal external appearance  The scar to feel (run your finger over it) lasts a very long time. Most important thing is don't get another chalazion.
