recovery after retina surgery

I had retina surgery two weeks ago. The doctor used gas instead of silicone. He told me that I don't have to look at my feet any more. He did insist that that I sleep facing down. I will visit him in four weeks. Questions: what can I do to help my recovery in addition to sleeping face down? Should I limit my reading? Please advise.

Only your doctor can really answer that question. Although, in most cases there isn't really much that can be done other than be patient and follow your doctor's instructions, especially regarding positioning and medications.
Reading, watching TV  and computer usage do NOT harm the retina.
