Where would I find the most up to date and proficient retina specialist (am willing to travel wherever) for my husband's vmt?
His condition began in February and he has been receiving periodic injections of avastin but I am always looking for second opinions and new advances. He has been diagnosed with  VMT – Vitreo Macular Traction,  central retinal vein occlusion (blocked vein), cystoid macula edema (swelling) and is a glacoma suspect. Thank you.

Depends which part of the country you live in.  Go to US news and world report website and look for the top ophthalmology programs in the country and go to the nearest university that is in the rankings (safe way to go about it) as most have state of the art equipment and doctors.  If I knew which state you were in, I may be able to recommend someone specific that I know personally.  Of course fame and popularity don't always make the best doctors and some of the best surgeons out there practice in small private settings.

Dr. Vosoghi - I live in Western New York and am not entirely comfortable with my ophthalmologist sending me to the cataract surgeon with which he is affiliated rather than offering a choice.  There seems to be only two dominating cataract practices here and I would appreciate any recommendation you might be able to give me to a neutral doctor.  I have a tentative appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Center for a second opinion, not knowing where else to go.

Many Thanks.
