retina repair and the use of gas bubbles

Last Friday I had gas injected into my left eye to repair a detachment. I can see the bubbles which are getting smaller in the bottom part of my vision field. My question is do all the gas bubbles remain together or to some of the bubbles ever travel to another part of the eye. It seems I have a black spot similar in size to the gas bubbles that moves around independently of the bubbles and can be seen to the left and considerly higher than the gas bubbles. I was wondering if this was something else or just part of the gas injection. I spoke to my retina surgeon on Saturday and he thought it was just some of the original gas injection. I go back to have Tues to have the retina lasered. Maybe I am worrying too much about this but the last two years I have had a detachment in the other eye as well. Thank you for your kindness in responding to this post.

In my case, it's definitely not a phobia. I have no fear of edges, corners, or other sharp objects, and don't mind being near them or touching them. It is only when they are in my direct field of vision that I have a problem. I react as if these things are physically affecting my eyes. I've been discussing this with neurologists recently (I have polyneuropathy, among other things) and they feel it is probably neurological in origin. I'm seeing a psychologist too, and he dismissed the idea of it being a phobia, as I have zero mental fear or discomfort regarding such things.

Bubbles can be multiple or single.  This is probably a smaller bubble next to a large bubble.
