severe blepharitis/hordeola

ive been suffering from blepharitis/internal hordeola for about 9 months now. the condition now is worse than ever, the hordeola have not gone yet and the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva are constanly red, tearing, etc.

whatever treatment i try, my eyes become more irritated and inflamed. last treatment consisted of ofloxacin and fluorometholone eyedrops (q6h) for 10 days, along with doxycycline and omega-3 pills for 3 months.

i wonder if this condition may be caused by fungal infection instead of by bacterial infection, so that any antibiotics worsen the infection. what medicines are indicated for blepharitis caused by fungus? oral ketoconazole?

thanks

Probably need to use Azasite twice/day for 5 days then at bedtime for 2-3 months plus daily use of occusoft foam eyelid clearner or SteriLid foam eyelid cleaner

It is highly unlikely that your problem is a fungus, next to zero.  Use the search feature and read about "blepharitis" the most common cause of chronic styes/chalazia.
