sick and tired of no answers

I've posted here before but I'm hoping someone new will see this and have an answer. Been to opthamologist 3 times with this issue, something like a fog or blur in my right eye, its present most of the time but sometimes its not as bad. I was born with polar cataracts which optham. says is so insignificant that its not causing my trouble. I believe him because if I've had them all my life why are they suddenly bothering me. Do not have age related cataracts yet. He sent me for a second opinion with an opthamoligist who specializes in the cornea and he too said the polar cataracts are insignificant. Said I do have dry eye and that could be problem but told me just to use otc drops for lubrication. They both did a vision test and it shows 20/25 and 20/30 so neither one will prescribe correction lenses bc they said I see better with the naked eye than I do with a prescription. How can that be??? I have since gone to my optometrist with my  frustrations because I couldn't believe that an opthamologist would not give me a prescription. My optometrist friend too said I could see better with my naked eye than I could with the lenses he switched back and forth. He said bc I am 49 I could be experiencing pre menopause and with that could come some dry eye issues. He put me on Restasis and I've been taking it for a week and a half but have not noticed any improvement other than my eyes don't feel as dry. I still have this bit of blur that comes and goes in my right eye and its sooooo frustrating. I love reading but I find I don't want to read anymore bc I want to preserve my vision, also don't have confidence when I drive especially at night bc of the terrible starbursts (but this is something I've always had since my lasik surgery in 1996....I would appreciate any insight someone can give me.

Thanks for your response. I've seen two different opthalmologists in the last month. Wouldn't a retina issue been noticed by one of them?

The restasis takes 6-8 weeks to really kick in.  If still having issues at that point, go for further investigation with another ophthalmologist.  You can also test out whether artificial tears help clear the vision when it blurs as well.

First thought was to tell you to see a Retina Specialist and have an OCT test done to see your Retina.  I had a layer of scar tissue that formed on my retina 3 years ago, when I was 55.  I needed a Membrane Peel/Vitrectomy surgery to remove it because it blurred my central vision so bad.
It was very clear on the OCT results.  Not all OCT machines are created equal.  I had 4 different Retina Spec. opinions and 4 different OCT machines so really noticed the difference in clarity on the results.
Ask the Retina surgeon which machine he uses and if the images are extremely clear, just in case you only have a small amount of scar tissue that may be obscuring your vision.

good luck !
