slow refresh rate/scan effect
Hi,
I occasionally on getting ready to sleep at night, with room light on and maybe hall light still on, see something resembling a slow refresh rate/vertical scan on an old crt monitor. It's not bright, but just enough to notice. Is this the "flashing" the opthamologist told me to watch for after a repair on a small retinal tear? I previously had a vitreous hemmhorage which cleared up by itself 90% without vitrectomy after a couple years.

Thankyou, that does ease the mind as retina specialist recently examined eye, and said it looked good besides cataract, which can be taken care of.

Not likely. Retinal tear or vitreous tug flashes very bright and very short duration like a flashbulb or a flash of lightening at night. More likely entopic phemonena. (read about on wikipedia). Do have your retina checked by your Eye MD and discuss with him/her.
