smudge in vision six months after cataract surgery

Dr Hagan: in December 2013 I had a toric lens/cataract surgery. Two months ago I developed  a "smudge" in my vision. so, Four days ago, my dr did a capsulotomy, assuming I had a cloudy lens capsule. now, the "smudge" is more pronounced. my dr is Now referring me to a "retina specialist." he mentioned negative dysphotopia.I don't have any issues with color blindness or any other color issues. i asked if i had by chance "a floater." he didn't say. He also warned me against seeking treatment from 1 of 3 Physicians in the u s  who yag-laser floaters (I read about treatment for floaters oN THE inTERNET). What should my next steps be? I don't know what to do or who to trust.

See the retina surgery. You need a thorough evaluation of the back of your eye especially the macula. You may have macular pathology.  Yes I also tell my patients not to have yag laser or vitrectomy treatment of floaters. Far too risky and much less successful to warrant taking those risks.
