Why is the inflammation still present in my eye

I developed conjunctivitis a week ago - they prescribed me with a antibiotic ointment which mainly got rid of the eye infection except there’s a small area in the conjunctiva that still has some inflammation, I then was to steroid drops three times a day and ointment at night, I have not seen any improvement, should I continue with the same treatment? Any advice is very appreciated, I’m tired of wearing glasses.

This will depend on what conjunctivitis are you having,  are you having an allergic reaction , a viral reaction or bacterial conj, You have to know what are you having to be able to solve the issue. If it’s an allergic conjunctivitis  it will come with symptoms such as itchiness , redness , tearing , discharge , ) first thing is to remove the allergens , anything you are allergic to must be away from you,  whereas viral will take some time( depending on the severity) , Keep taking the medication and hopefully you see results.
