now what?

I only posted a question at the weekend about possible dry eye syndrome, the dr said said it could be a number of causes .
So i  decided i would go and and get it checked out. Today, all underneath my right eye is a bit painfull? i know when i had that cataract removed it took a good half an hour to do, he told me that it wasquite bad,i had both eyes done five years ago.
i am wondering if this is some kind of sinus trouble and it is affecting my eyes?when i bend my head the tears flow, other times they are irritable, have stringy type mucus in them.
is it better to place dry eye drops in before bedtime? or three times a day?
thank you so much for your help, you are a godsend. linda

You know I really can't direct your treatment and you need to see an ophthalmologist in person.  In the meantime, try some high quality artificial tears (preservative free if possible) and use a few drops about 4 to 6 times a day and especially at bedtime. I suppose sinus problems could possibly be related but quite honestly the only way to determine that is with a CAT scan ordered by your primary care physician.  Keep trying the tears in the meantime.
