swollen lower lid

my boyfirend's lower eyelid began to swell up yesterday, it only began to do this after he had eaten at this place... he rubbed his eye and that is when it began to swell up i dont now if it is an allergic reaction or not because we eat there often. the food was spicy maybe there was something on his finger when he rubbed it. its still a little swollen he has taken medicine and applied ice lest night.

If it was an allegic reaction to something he ate he would have the problem in both eyes. If it was something he rubbed in the eye that would explain one eye having the swelling. Anyway if if doesn't look normal Tuesday I would see an ophthalmologist.

thats the thing it hurt when it forst started to swell up he has been taking benadryl since last nite his vsion isn't blurred but it was red, as if he had pink eye. my mom and i thought it could be an allergic reaction to something he ate earlier in the day which was crab legs, but why would it jst start happening 6 or 7 hours later? i looked at it at about 6am today and it was still pretty swollen it looks like he has a bag under his eye..

Make sure he takes a good shower and washes around the face and eyes to remove any residual irritants. As long as the eye is not red, painful and the vision blurred he should be fine. Lesson learned, don't rub your eyes especially with spicy food on the paw.
