I understand your frustration. It's probably best that you work toward switching to a disposable or scheduled replacement lens. Not necessary - just a good practical idea. I've seen patients do very, very well with preference toric. Consider that brand. If you really want to stick with current lens, get a second opinion and see what doctor says. From my perspective, if you really like current lenses and are doing well with them - I don't see a real problem with sticking with them for a while. Just use very good maintenance and care with lenses and eyes.

I think that what's safe in terms of contact lenses is probably relative; daily disposables are undoubtedly safer than soft lenses worn for 1.5 years. Yes, the disposables cost more, although you can save money by re-ordering online. Based on the tone of your post, I suspect that you love your contacts (and why shouldn't you?) and want to continue wearing them for many years. With all the disposable toric lenses currently available, surely you can find something that will work for you. (BTW, Torisoft is made by CIBA. You could contact them for info about their future manufacturing plans.) Best wishes.
