Bisphosphonates like Boniva have been associated rarely with uveitis. You would experience ocular pain, blurred vision, light sensitivity, loss of vision and possibly glaucoma if you had uveitis. Your ophthalmologist would be able to tell you right away if you had any uveitis and the Boniva could be discontinued if that were the case. The fuch's corneal dystrophy has nothing to do with all of this and is an inherited condition of the cornea that can cause corneal swelling especially after cataract surgery sometimes and can require corneal transplantation in severe cases. If you have concerns about the Boniva tell your ophthalmologist who should be able to calm your fears and help with your occasional irritation. Use artificial tears in the meantime.

I want to thank you for your prompt answer to my question.I will see my Eye Dr and have him determine if I should dis-continue the Boniva. I thought I was headed straight for the corneal transplant-- Now I feel much better about this. Have a good day
