Recommandation for a strubismus doctor around the area

hello,
i need some help pick out the right doctor to fix my eyes.   my eyes are not straight, one of my eyes turn out.  Im lookin for a good/great doctor with a good success rating (operate only once or twice to fix) around the 92683 area code.  i see there if like 15 doctors around my 25 mile radius but im am willing to travel farther for that right doctor.  if you can help me choose a doctor with the most experice and success rate, that would be more than appreciated.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

what is the average cost for a operation like this anyways?  $2000-3000?  i just need to know range so i know what to expect when i visit some doctors.

Dear MrHoang,

You can find a specialist in strabismus by searching the find an eyeMD section on the AAO.org website.  The types of specialists that perform this surgery are usually pediatric and sometimes, neuro-ophthalmologists.  I would recommend that you call the office, visit them and feel which doctor you feel most confident.

You can find a Board Certified member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology by going to www.aao.org

The cost of surgery will vary but the biggest variable is what type of surgery is need and how many muscles need operated on.

Some cases of strabismus can be treated without surgery.
