visual anomalies and hyperawareness

Firstly, I have had in excess of 10 dilations by eye MDs (including retina specialists) over the past 8 years and no abnormality has ever been found.

However, I have an ongoing problem where i have been developing permanent scattered scotomas throughout the visual fields in both eyes (not symmetrical). These spots are dark against light backgrounds and light /white against dark, if that makes sense. They do not show up on field tests, but are visible on an amsler grid.

I am very concerned there is an undetected pathology going on here, and am HIGHLY anxious and pretty much obsessed with monitoring my vision.

Have you ever heard of such a thing?  The spots do not move once they manifest, so i know it is not psychological.

I am just asking for your input/ideas, so pretty please don't tell me to find a neuroopthalmologist. I have searched and searched the internet and have found nothing to match my symptoms. Many thanks in advance.

Has anyone here ever found an answer for this? My husband has had Moderate Background Diabetic Retinopathy for about 15 years and is seeing these 'spots' in his vision. He received numerous OCTs and exams from the best retinal specialist in Boston and a barrage of tests from a neuro-opthamologist, as well as an MRI/MRA and all were clean. There is nothing in the scans or exams that correlate to these spots and his retinal specialist has confirmed that he doesn't think it's retinopathy. He is super high-anxiety, which is something we've seen as a common denominator in people on these boards that have this same issue.

If it were serious it would have got worse and blinded or killed him.  Best work on the anxiety with a psychiatrist or psychologist.

To be honest, this is an unhelpful and rather insulting response. I was actually asking the question to see if others who are experiencing these symptoms have had any further diagnoses. Bringing up blindness and death to someone who has a T1 partner in such a flippant way seems a little condescending.

I have similar symptoms with no results from an opthalmologist and a neurologist.  I suggest looking into the meridian system in Chinese physiology.  It is the only paradigm that is consistent with my eye symptoms and other serious muscle, joint and fatigue problems.
