4 weeks spotting and cramps

Hi I am about 4 weeks pregnant according to my LMP. A day after finding out I was pregnant I starting spotting lightly and now it has pretty much stopped (only lasted a day). It was extremely light and only really noticed it when I went to the bathroom. Today I am experiencing some mild cramping. It is so mild that I am wonding if it is just from bloating as I have had a lot of bloating and gas for the past week. I just want to know if anyone has experienced these symptoms also and everything has been okay with their pregnancy??? I have another doctors appt on Monday for a new blood test ( my levels yesterday were hcg 536) but I just want something that might ease my mind a little.

Thanks

Just thought I'd update for those who may have a similar experience early on...

I am now 12 weeks and 2 days pregnant. The scans have come back completely normal!!

I am very happy and the morning sickness seems to be improving  : )

Hi Everyone,

Well I ended up going in early for an ultrasound. I found out that I am 6 weeks 1 day pregnant! My baby even has a heartbeat!

I found out that I have a cyst on my right ovary which explains the bleeding and pain on that side.

Thanks to you all for being there to help me out   : )

Thanks, you are helping me relax a little. I will just rest and see how I go today. Just got to take it one day at a time.

Thanks

Congrats on your pregnancy!

cramping is ENTIRELY normal in early pregnancy. things have to stretch out in there....
an ectopic would be severe pain, not cramping.
i spent the first 8 weeks of my pregnancy expecting to find blood every time i wiped because of the constant cramping, but am now 34 weeks pregnant...
1/3 of all healthy prengnancies have spotting or bleeding in the first trimester
try to relax and enjoy the ride.
it gets a bit easier when you can feel the baby kicking and moving constantly, but you still second guess every twinge, cramp or discomfort.

Okay so spotting started again today. This is going to make me crazy. It's like a rollercoaster ride and is messing with my emotions, not to mention how hormonal and emotional I am because of the pregnancy.
I have more pain to the right and am beginning to think it could be ectopic??? Although, it's not really constant pain, it's more like pressure and the occasional sharp pain. Has this happened to anyone before?

That's a good number, you should be fine. Has the spotting stopped? When do you go for ultrasound? Good luck!

Hi everyone,

Well it's good news. I had my blood test done this morning and my hcg (betas) have gone from 536 to 1918 in 3 days. It is such a relief, the waiting is horrible, and mind you I am probably going to be checking for spotting all the time now.

I just wanted to thank you all though, you all helped me stay a little more relaxed.

Thanks!!!!

With my dd, I had some bleeding (brown blood) for 3 days at 5 1/2 weeks and then some very brief bright red spotting at 7 weeks.  I had mild cramping for at least the first 8 weeks almost constantly.  Everything was fine!  With the one m/c I had, I had no spotting or cramping, just loss of symptoms.  Best of luck!

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will keep you updated when I go to my next appointment tomorrow, the dr is going to take more blood and then I should know what's going on. The spotting has stopped and I am now feeling a little unwell (could be morning sickness kicking in : ) I hope it is a good sign).

I am not sure how many betas I had. I know that my hcg count was 536 but thats all I know. Is that what you mean? What do the betas tell you? I am new to this as it is my first pregnancy, sorry if I am not fully answering your question. Do you know what your hcg levels were? It sounds like there is such a wide range that it could fall into for 4 weeks.

around the time your period is due, some women have a little bleeding/spotting. its just a hormonal thing. as long as its not very heavy or painful, you should be ok. if it is, see your doctor x

Hi
first of all congratulation!!!
i was the same with my first baby, i had a LOT of bad cramping during the early stages of pregnancy, and i have a happy and healthy little boy who is now 18 months old, so shouldnt be anything to worry about. i think its something to do with the uterus, muscles etc stretching ready for the pregnancy. let us know how u get on. is this ur first?
