Am I already Pregnant 5 days after a 5 day blastocyst transfer?

I recently had IVF using donor eggs. My transfer was 5 days ago using two Grade A blastocyst. They are from a donor, so I have not had any trigger injections or any form of HCG put into my body. I am on progesterone in oil injections, progesterone suppositories, estrogen patches and pills, baby aspirin chewables, prenatal and calcium pills and synthroid.

There are still 7 days remaining until I have the blood test for pregnancy, but I took a home pregnancy test only five days after transfer and the HPT test was pretty clear for a positive result. I know testing too early can produce false / misleading results or chemical pregnancy results, but is this true for a woman who has used donor eggs?

Technically speaking, how soon can a 5 day blast implant? Could this be a sign of twins, even? I'm really looking forward to hearing from anyone who has knowledge on this subject.

Thank you kindly in advance.

Blessed_2010,

Thank you! I will go in for my actual pregnancy test tomorrow and I will post the results, good or bad.

To answer your question about symptoms, well, three days after transfer, I was extremely dizzy and felt generally ill, like I should only be in bed. The day prior, I had one very sharp pain in my lower abdomen that lasted less than five seconds and never returned. My breast felt somewhat heavy, but not extremely.
These symptoms lasted one or possibly two days and now there is nothing but the mild, nagging cramps I feel on a daily basis (so scary). I was urinating more frequently for three days past transfer, but also drinking more water.

These days, (11 days after transfer) I am so free of symptoms that I think my breast are even getting smaller! lol

How are you doing? What day past transfer are you?

I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well!!

Thank you misslollipop and anyone else I may have missed. I really appreciate your support and blessings.

Today is 07-07-10. The first Home Pregnancy Test I did was 5 days after my day-5 blastocyst transfer, which was positive. I took another test 8 days after my day-5 blastocyst transfer (2 days ago) and it was much darker in color, so things are looking even more promising.

However, I'm still having daily cramps that's very unnerving. Also, the thought of beta numbers coming in low as well as progesterone is worrying me.

What are good numbers for the first beta? Maybe I should make a new post for this question....

Thank you mommyin10, Mybabypooh, and mhv! Five more days until the blood test. Things can always change, but I'm cautiously hopeful.

Thank you, Kricket212!!

I'll keep updating, but you never know what can happen, especially since I've had a miscarriage before under the same circumstances. So I'm keeping my excitement to a low.

I know you don't want to get your hopes up, but it sounds positive to me! :) You can get a false positive when you've had a trigger shot that's still in your system, but that's not your case. I had a 5-day transfer & got my faint +hpt at 6 dpt and went on to have my beautiful babies this past February :) Best wishes to you!!!!!

It sounds to me like it's a keeper.  A positive is a positive & especially when it's a donor egg.  She is probably young & healthy.  Good for you....I am so excited for you!!

I posted this question earlier today, but I noticed that I spelled my user name wrong (LOL) so I'm reposting it here.

Thank you Rose33, nshapland, kris71 and ummansoor for your comments :)

I think it's a little early but it looks like you are indeed pregnant!! congrats!! it's possible that the two of them implanted and that's why your numbers were high enough to be read by the hpt this soon but this u can't tell for sure even when u get your beta numbers. the only way they can tell is by u/s...
Good luck and congrats!

I had a day 3 transfer and got a positive hpt on day 8

What happens after a 3 Day and a 5 Day Transfer!
3-DAY TRANSFER:

1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
HPT

5-DAY TRANSFER:

-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining

If you didn't use any trigger injections or hcg, I think you are indeed pregnant. Congratulations!
