Am I missing a step.

I just had my embroys transfer on Wednesday and I too have some cramping on and off.  I read some IVF chats and have heard people talk about "beta" what is that and what do the numbers mean?  Also how do you test your HCG levels? I won't know if I am pregnant until March 17th.  Thanks in advance for you help.

Thank you.  Sorry it took so long getting back I had OHSS ended up spending easter in the emergency room I hope this does not lessen my chance for pregnancy.

Beta refers to a blood hcg test that gives you a count on how much hcg is in your blood. 0-5 is not pregnant. A home pregnancy test (hpt) measures hcg in urine. Blood is more accurate and will confirm pregnancy sooner. It usually takes between 25-50 mIu/ml hcg to trigger a home test to be positive. It takes longer to show in urine than in blood. Good luck on your transfer!!
