Hi llenda:  I was touching base to see how you were doing so far since your transfer. I hope you are well. I was so bad I caved in a did a HPT because I was having back ache and severe cramps just like my AF. Of course I got a BFN As if I was surprised. Even though it's early to test I believe I will be seeing my AF soon. I am so discouraged, depressed and everything that feels bad. I really do hope you're hanging in there your success will be mine. I want to thank all the ladies who helped me through this time it made a BIG difference. I know I'll get over it I'm just not ready yet.

BabyforLori:  I hope you had a great time on your trip and I hope you and baby are doing great too. Thanks for all your support and best of luck

Dardamico: Hope you and the twins are well. Best of luck and thanks a MILLION for your kind words.
May God bless you all

Thanks for your response. And a BIG congratulations I hope both you and your babies have a healthy and wonderful pregnancy.  I'm new to this forum and I feel so thrilled to FINALLY have women who I can share my thoughts, fears and experience with. No one knows about my IVF so I've been virtually alone (well there's my husband who always says "Don't worry hon everything will be fine.) God bless his heart but unless you've been poked and prodded as many times as I've been during this whole ordeal you just couldn't possibly undersatnd.

I'm curious did you do your transfer on day three or day 5? That's my BIG dilema because I keep hearing great results for day 5 transfers but no day 3 and I'm just worried since I transferred only 2 embies on day 3. Please let me know and thanks.

Hi, and yes, thanks be all to God for answering our prayers.  He deserves all the glory.

Because we did the PGD testing, our transfer was on day 5.

I know exactly how you feel about answering questions about "When are you going to have a baby?"  I always knew no one was intentionally trying to be mean to me, but, it did not help at that time.  But you know what is funny now, people are saying, "Your too old to have a baby?"  Whatever..... So, you can't win!!!  Anyway, I laugh it off and am just enjoying this journey.  But, know, you are not alone.  I am here almost everyday.  I don't post much, but when I find someone our age that has questions, I will respond.  So, let me know how you are doing, and if you have any questions, please feel free to post, I will get back with you.  We are leaving on vacation tomorrow, but I will be back on May 1.  Good luck and many prayers for you!!!

Hi Desparado-

I'm 38 years old and I've had success with my first IVF cycle.  I am now pregnant with twins and I am 10 weeks 1 day.  They ended up transferring 3 eggs.  I am extremely happy because I really wasn't sure if it would happen on the first try.  I also had an IUI last summer and that worked on the first try, but it ended up a chemical pregnancy.  I wish you the best of luck and you know that it can happen on the first try.

I too am 39 and just had my transfer on Sat. (two eggs/Day 3).  This is my first IVF.  I have never tried anything else though.  My Dr. suggested removing both my tubes since they were both a mess.  He said they can fill with fluid and cause a miscarriage.  This is my second marriage and neither one of us have any children.  I will keep you updated.

Thank God your prayers were answered. May you have a healthy and happy pregnancy and a healthy beautiful baby. Thanks for responding. This is my first time on this forum and it really helps. I felt soooo alone because no one in my family nor my friends know about the ivf. I just can't stand people every month or so asking "So no baby yet?" Especially since I'll be 40 in September and my husband has no children.

I now have hope. I knw every situation is different but I have faith in God and what shall be will be. Question was your transfer day 3 or blast day 5? Again I am thrilled for you.

Hi Desperado.

I am also 39 years old, I will be 40 in May.  I have just completed by first IVF cycle in April, with a positive result on April 10.  It really can happen!!  I was pregnant before, in 2005, but it was ectopic.  This pregnancy resulted in me losing my right tube completely.  I started going to see my RE in late 2006.  We did our first round of IVF starting in Feb, 2007.  When they did my retrieval, they got 9 eggs, of which, 8 fertilized.  From there, we lost 5 in PGD testing (chromo. abnormalities), 2 were transferred and 1 was frozen.  Of the two which were transferred - 1 was a 2bb and 1 was a 3bb.  On 4/10, my beta came back at HCG 94 and progesterone 17.4.  The funny thing is, I did not have any symptoms, and really still don't.  In fact, I thought I would have nausea and feelings of being really really hot, but the opposite is almost true.  I feel fine, other than a little tired, and I mostly feel cold during the day.  Just last week, I started to have sweating at night, but not a whole lot.  I went this morning, today, I am six weeks along, the dr. did an u/s and we saw the heart beating and my little bean measures six weeks exactly.

So, try not to drive yourself too crazy by reading the into the "symptoms", for me, they just were not there.  It was a TOTAL shock when the test came back positive, I thought for sure it would be negative.  Good luck to you, I will pray for you a BPN in two weeks.  Good luck and much much much stickey baby dust.
