BFP and worried

Just got my first BFP after a recent miscarriage in Febuary. I am scared to death about this pregnancy. I go to my doctor tomorrow to get my progesterone drawn. I lost my first pregnancy due to low progesterone. Any one ever had to take prometrium due to low progesterone during early pregnancy? Is it safe?

I have stated this in several other comments, so sorry if you read it before.  Do not take oral progesterone.  It causes Birth defects.  As far as I know the creams and suppositories are safe.  I wonder about it too becaus I have never really been tested except during a pg for progesterone levels, but I know with my last m/c I was really low.  I have also used an over-the-counter cream from the health food store that a friend had a successful pg with.  Since I haven't had my levels tested or anything I don't know if it is really working (I'm not pg right now as far as I know, TWW!).

I am worried about the same thing, although I am taking Prochieve 8%, my dh had to go and read the fine print.  It says that is can cause cleft palate and abdominal defects.  I am 6 wks preggo and freaking out.  I have only taken it for 3 days, but I am going to call my dr to confirm.  I know the FDA clumps all progesterones into that category....but I am hoping it is just the synthetic they found that causes that.  Prometrium is a natural one...I think?!?!

I always read the entire notice thing that comes with my prescriptions, then I call my bro-in-law who is a pharmacist. He said it is ok in the first trimester. I am just paranoid.  You have to decide for yourself if you are willing to risk not having a baby (m/c), or having baby with a birth defect you know (or think) was caused from a medication you took.  It is a fine line.  I am sure that most people have babies that are just fine, I am just saying you should be aware of risks.  Also, when I ws pg and my doctor prescribed it I was really worried and didn't take it until I started spotting and then it was too late.
