Big Fat Negative!!!!!

Hi All,

I posted the other day about having a beta HCG level of 8.9 after my IUI this cycle and they sent me back on saturday to test again and it was 1.2 so they are telling me not pregnant. I stopped the progesterone and still have not received my period, when should I expect it? Why would I have any HCG level at all if i wasn;t pregnant? I don't think its residual from trigger shot and I have never had residual before...I am soooooo bummed. reall thought this was it! Not my turn again. So depressed. I was supposed to start IVF cycle this month but putting it off till next month. Need a break, too depressed right now and afraid that will hurt my chances of successful IVF. I only have 1 shot at IVf financially as my insurance doesn;t cover it so afraid to rush it. Damn, I really hope 2008 works out better than 2007.

I am so sorry this cycle didn't work out for you! I'm hoping 2008 will be a much better year too!

I'm not sure when you should expect your period. How many days past ovulation are you?

I have not done IUI, but when stop progesterone after IVF it has taken anywhere from 4 -7 days to start AF.  Taking a month off is probably a good idea.  After 3 failed IVF attempts I can say you really want to go into IVF with all your emotional strength.  As for the HCG, 8.9 seems a little high for a trigger shot residual which I assume was probably about 14-16 days past the trigger.  Did they say it was possible you had a chemical?  It also depends on what your Drs lower limit level of HCG is for actually determining a pregnancy.

Yes, the Dr. said could have been chemical pregnancy or a false positive. AF arrived full force on the 8th so back to the drawing board. IVF cycle here I come!!!
