Big Fat Negative!!!!!

Hi All,

I posted the other day about having a beta HCG level of 8.9 after my IUI this cycle and they sent me back on saturday to test again and it was 1.2 so they are telling me not pregnant. I stopped the progesterone and still have not received my period, when should I expect it? Why would I have any HCG level at all if i wasn;t pregnant? I don't think its residual from trigger shot and I have never had residual before...I am soooooo bummed. reall thought this was it! Not my turn again. So depressed. I was supposed to start IVF cycle this month but putting it off till next month. Need a break, too depressed right now and afraid that will hurt my chances of successful IVF. I only have 1 shot at IVf financially as my insurance doesn;t cover it so afraid to rush it. Damn, I really hope 2008 works out better than 2007.

Sry about the BFN.

You always have an HcG level from what I understand but it stays below 5. If it goes above 5 then you are pregnant.

THANKS! and I'm sorry for those who got BFN's this cycle too! This is so draining and yes, these posts definately do help, easier then bombarding husbands with all the emotions all day long! Ha Ha.
My Doc said since my HCG was on low side, it was probably a false positive more so than a chemical pregnancy, I don't know... I wish insurance covered even part of it. I'm in NY and the IVF at the RE office I am with is over $15,000. I received a grant to help us pay and I still have to lay out over $9000! So one shot and thats it for us, at least till I can save more money. We're also in process of buying our first home so can you say STRESSS!!!!!! But trying to keep hopes up. Thanks for the encouragement!

I'm SO sorry about the BFN. I also found out about my BFN yesterday (my first IVF cycle). I can totally understand the frustration and depression. I had 2 BIG outbursts of tears already (last night and this morning). We are going for a second cycle but will probably postpone for another month. I have a consult with my RE tomorrow and we will discuss the first cycle and hopefully map out a plan for a second cycle. I'm a little lucky that my insurance covers most of the infertility treatment but I still have to shell out about $3500 for stuff not covered. One reason why we need a month - to try and save up - not sure though how we're going to do it.

I am also going to do acupuncture. It's not that expensive and a lot of women swear by it. Maybe yoga, too. Anything to help because I am not sure if I can take another heartache.

Good luck to you. I know it may not seem like 2008 is working out, but hey, it's still early. Plus on the Chinese calendar, the new year really doesnt start until February - or something like that :-)

You're not in this alone...this group is SUCH a BIG help and great support!!!

SSBD!

I'm so sorry about your BFN..
It sounds like a chemical pregnancy to me...did you ask the RE?
Are you going to meet him before the IVF?
