Biochemical Pregnancy-Early Miscarriage

Has anyone had a biochemical pregnancy?  This is my second one in a row.  Has anyone had this occur and then have a healthy pregnancy?  With both pregnancies I lost the babies around 6 weeks.  What causes biochemical pregnancies?  Everything I read states that if you have 1 it is rare you will have another and I now have had 2 with no live births in between.  What's going on?

Hi Faith,
DO not worry abt chemical pregnancy. As I had one in Oct and my doc too told that I even knew that I was pregnant because I was cautious and waiting for it. Most women face it but they dnt know since they are not attentive abt their cycle and jst think their AF is a week late. But what might have happened was a chemical pregnancy. I went to my doc to get my harmone levels checked and she gave me prometrium for LPD. I have only 10 to 11 days of Luteal Phase.

Usually, the cause for a chem pg is a bad egg or bad sperm. The embryo doesn't develop like it is supposed to, so the body rejects it. I have had 2 as well.

It is natural for the body to want to reject an implanting embryo. It is a foreign body. The second it starts to burrow into the uterine lining, it starts producing Hcg. The Hcg tells the body to calm down and don't reject it. Slow rising Hcg will cause chem pg.

If you have another one, the dr should runs some tests to be sure you don't have a clotting disorder or a lining problem.  The most common reason is a non-viable pg.  I am sorry you are going thru this.

From what I've read, chemical pregnancies are actually fairly common. It's just that most women wouldn't know they had one, they would just assume they started their period a few days late.

So you've had two chemical pregnancies and two miscarriages?

I had one at the end of october.  I don't know what causes it or if there's any way you can avoid it.
