Conceiving strategy for PCOS

My OB/Gyn wants me to either continue a type of birth control to help regulate other symptoms of PCOS (hair loss, weight gain etc ...) or begin a treatment of Clomid to assist in my ovulation and increase the possiblity of pregnancy.

My Family Doctor made Provera 10mg available to me so that I can induce my period every couple of months but my OB/Gyn says that if I become pregnant, I will have increased my chances of miscarriage because my lack of monthly menstruation will have too much buid-up in my uterus making it an unhealthy environment for my baby.

I enjoy exercising & eating healthy and I would like to attempt to become pregnant naturally without Clomid or any other drug.

My husband & I are okay with not becoming pregnant right away and it has been a huge step for us to even start having unprotected sex because we understand we are making ourselves open to the possiblity of becoming pregnant right away.

I figure that if it is God's will then I will become pregnant naturally.

Is it true that I will likely have a miscarriage if I become pregnant and I didn't have a menstrual cycle every month???

I also have pcos and so far I have had 2 pregnancies and 2 miscarriages.  I am not sure about the lining but I imagine if you get pregnant on like a 40 or 50 day cycle the lining could be overgrown or inhospitable.  Both of my pregnancies happened on longer cycles and my RE said there is some thought that if you ovulate many days past the normal 14 days, it is possible that the egg is "geriatric" by the time it is fertilitzed and that can lead to m/c.

There is no way to tell really if you will m/c, I just wanted to say that I have PCOS as well and I have been ttc for 3 years (me 24, dh 25) and I have done six cycles of Clomid-no luck.  I went to the RE found out I have PCOS and was put on Femara.   Anyway women with PCOS are automatically at a 50% chance of m/c, and Clomid does thin out uternine lining.  Best wishes hope this helps a little and your journey is quick!
