Does clomid make you ovulate sooner?

My question is does clomid make you ovulate sooner than you typically would normally? I was concerned about going in on day 21 for progestorone level to see if I ovulated! Everywhere I read the level needs to be done 7 days post ovulation. So what if I ovulated on day 20 because my cycles are so long? I asked the nurse today and she said that by taking the clomid I will ovulate sooner! I'm not sure I believe that? Anyone have any experience with this! I don't want to test early and they increase my dose unnecessarily!

Clomid made me O a week later than before I was on it. My OBGYN thought that was crazy and didn't believe me at first but then after 3 months of testing she realized I was right. When I transferred to an RE she told me that was completely normal. So, I think it can go either way. Are you using OPK's that should help you to monitor when O is supposed to occur and then yes, the blood work should be 7 days after that. Good luck to you!

Clomid made me ovulate almost 5-6 days earlier than ususal and yes, the progesterone levels should be checked 7 days post ovulation to provide a more accurate information on whether you are ovulating. Are you using any method to determine ovulation time period? OPK s maybe?

you may ovulate sooner. When I took Clomid I ovulated 1 day sooner than I usually did. But, when I took injectibles I O'd as much as 4 days sooner than expected.  Sometimes the stimming drugs make your follies mature quicker. Are they monitoring your cycle with u/s and b/w?
